Lots of activity, no posting

The past couple of weeks have seen me desrtoying and creating computers. My windows desktop is still being repaired. I have to go buy a new copy of XP for it beacuse the disc I have (circa 2002) won't insatll properly. My Ubuntu machine is coming along. I spend some time every day trying to tweak it just right. You have to hunt for different packages to enable certain functions that we take for granted with windows. It feels good though, to be out from under Bill Gates' thumb. It's very educational too, and there are helpful forums where the smart people help me educate myself about the OS
